tYhle & Lukáš Karásek: Living room

In the Living Room, furniture transforms into living beings with their own character, and a single room opens the way to an entire parallel world. Lukáš Karásek balances between mask theatre, dance, and circus, setting off on a playful expedition full of imagination and humour.

Parent-Friendly Culture & Flash Art #75: Family (Discussion Circle & Launch)

The accessibility platform Parent-Friendly Culture joins forces with Flash Art magazine on the occasion of the release of its 75th issue, themed around family.

In a discussion circle, we will focus on how cultural institutions can reflect the diversity of family structures, make culture accessible to parents and children with limited opportunities, and support healthy relationships within families and communities.

Together, we will seek strategies of support and answers to the question of why caring for the family environment is important for all of us.

The discussion will be introduced by three short contributions from guest speakers, followed by a group debate, the launch of the new issue of Flash Art, and a presentation of upcoming plans for the Parent-Friendly Culture platform.

Temporary Collective: Last Dance

How do you dance with someone who is gone?

Can you bring them back through a dance? Can their absence bring you back to yourself? How do we overcome loss? The loss of someone close to us? Or the loss of an ideal? Or vision for the future?

In Last Dance, Tereza Ondrová returns to her opening solo from Call Alice to revisit a loss from the pandemic. In this one-time-only solo, set in a dance hall where we dance as many, Ondrová will dance as one. She will dance to recover and to discover how loss can be transformed.

Temporary Collective: CALL ALICE (audio-installation) / premiere

The audio installation CALL ALICE is a remediation of the dance performance of the same name, which created the illusion of a dialogue between two women through the voice of an absent character. It captures the creative process during the pandemic, when Tereza Ondrová and Francesca Foscarini explored new ways of collaborating remotely. The installation offers a glimpse into the transformation of dance in the digital age and reveals the personal stories that brought the two artists together.

Aljoša Lovrić Krapež and the Team: IS JOY

A leaf blower, a chair, bubble wrap, coat hangers, doors, feathers, an inflatable balloon, nails, pallets, a trampoline, a washing machine — and plenty of ropes pulling everything up to the sky! IS JOY is a performance, installation, and event that explores joy as a force of creation and as a way of relating to the world around us. Bodies, objects, and sound come together to build a vibrating structure that transforms the space into a pulsing organism. At the intersection of puppetry, visual art, and ritual, a place emerges where the relationship between people and things takes on a new form.

Claire F. Crescini: The Art of Life and Death / work in progress

The Art of Life and Death is a dance solo that explores the fragility and strength of the female body — its ability to create, destroy, experience pleasure, and resist social pressures. Through movement and the lens of eco-sensuality, it reconnects the human body with nature and invites a reconsideration of ingrained ideas about female corporeality.

Martina Hajdyla / ME-SA: Bodies After Progress

Every end is a new beginning. Every progress transforms into something else. The award-winning performance Bodies in Progress by Martina Hajdyla Lacová is now irreversibly a part of history. Now, the bodies of Martina and her daughter experience progress separately—each in her own way. The project Bodies After Progress is an experiment that attempts the impossible: to bridge past and present, and to pause time for a moment. It is about being side by side—together and apart.

Who supports whom?

A solo dance becomes a duet, yet the number of performers does not change.
