Information

Parent-Friendly Culture, the platform for cultural accessibility for parents and children, joins forces with Flash Art magazine on the occasion of the publication’s 75th edition centred on family.

We are interested in learning how cultural institutions could support and reflect in their programming and operations the need for diversity of family structures. As part of the discussion, we should look at several strategies for making culture accessible to those who have, for various reasons, limited opportunities for participation, and how institutions can actively support the emergence of healthy relationships in families and communities. We will ask together: what support structures can families (and their diverse forms) create? How can we respond to the lack of systemic support, and why should we all strive for a healthy family environment?

The event will open with three short presentations by invited guests, followed by a joint discussion. The afternoon will also include a launch of the Flash Art magazine’s new issue and a presentation of the results and new direction of the Parent-Friendly Culture platform.

Free childcare will be provided during the programme.
