In 2008, we began writing the story of a place that Prague was missing: a space where independent art meets community, where theatre, performance, and dance share the same stage – with parents and non-parents, across generations.
Over 17 years, we’ve built a thriving home for contemporary independent art – but also endured two relocations and countless uncertainties. In 2023, we finally found a long-term home and began rebuilding it ourselves. We’ve already achieved a lot: we financed the complete architectural documentation, obtained a building permit, connected the site to water and sewage systems, and started construction – reinforcing, demolishing, and transforming the upper building.
Now we face the next crucial stage: installing electricity, heating, and ventilation. In spring 2026, we aim to obtain occupancy approval and open our doors to the public.
But we can’t finish the construction alone.
We refuse to give up on our dream – a fully functional centre for contemporary independent dance and performance, connecting the world of performative art with people who believe in an open future, cross-sector collaboration, and a healthy, active civil society.
We’re looking for partners willing to share both the joy and the risk, and help us bridge the most demanding phase of reconstruction. We need financial support for our non-profit organisation to reach the finish line in time.
We are urgently seeking:
🔴 partners who believe in and want to invest in our unique vision
🔴 partners willing to lend funds for the completion of reconstruction (for up to 5 years, with interest up to 6% p.a.; we need a total of CZK 5,000,000, which can also be combined from smaller contributions)
If you feel that Prague and Libeň need a place like this, please get in touch. And if you know someone who might, please pass it on.
Thank you. We believe that ALTA will celebrate adulthood with a new home, a secure future, and as a lasting contribution – not just for us but for everyone.
