Two summer days of open-air performances, workshops, and gatherings. The program invites participants to explore through taste, touch, movement, sound, and scent. Intimate and collective moments offer an opportunity to slow down, be present, and experience the surroundings, the body, and the world from new perspectives. FRIDAY 18.07.2025

18:00 – 20:00

Lenka Kubelová: Tasting the Terroir

A tasting and storytelling experience inviting us to explore the character of Libeň’s terroir through flavor. Some tastes may feel familiar, others surprising. And what will they create together? What can the place reveal about itself through its taste?

Lenka Kubelová works with fermentation, kitchen-based dyes, and biocultural hope. She leads community workshops and projects focused on the taste of place. As an editor, she prepared the Czech editions of books by fermentation legends Sandor Katz and Pascal Baudar.

The tasting is the result of the Libeň Terroir workshop.

Vi Huyen Tran: Vůně, která zůstala

ambient ritual through scent, sound, and body

A scent ritual inspired by the sauna – a place of warmth, silence, and sharing. Ambient music and aromatherapy come together in a slow multisensory experience.
We rediscover scents that were once suppressed – resin, moss, wet wood. Silent traces of memory open landscapes both inside and outside the body.
We lie down, breathe, and slow down. All it takes is a breath. Here and now, it smells different.

Nitish Jain: Prelude to First Raindrops

interactive performance lecture

Drifting clouds, restless birds and a lonely ambassador of humanity.
A multisensory collage of migrations: leaving the nest, returning in cycles, or sent into exile. In this interactive performance lecture myths meet memory, and salt meets the sky. Postcolonial storytelling tells us about planetary aches, and entangles us with ecology through scents, sounds and taste.
Flamingoes are not born pink: their color is borrowed from the world they consume. The Jacobin Cuckoo has probably never flown over the Church of the Jacobins in Toulouse. The Golden Record contains greetings to the universe in 55 different languages from the earth.
Yet, have you ever tasted rain as it falls?

Magdalena Malinová: Prostřít krajinu / Serving the Landscape

participatory food performance
Can you remember how you felt about food before someone showed you how to hold a fork? When you explored the world with your palms, fingers reaching where they weren’t supposed to?
To gather around a table, sink into silence, and make space for textures, colours, scents. To walk through a landscape without outlines, become part of it, leave a trace, play, and create something delicious and fleeting.
Serving the Landscape is a short, shared preparation of a small feast with playful rules.

Barvolam: Textile Jam Session and Workshop

How can we create together when different worlds of experience and imagination meet? This workshop introduces the method of art facilitation and the principles of collective creation developed in the Jamming project, which breaks down boundaries between artists with intellectual disabilities, people on the autism spectrum, and academically trained creators. Shared painting, exchange, and new perspectives on artistic work with diverse groups.

We offer you the opportunity to:

-collaborate with artists with an intellectual disability or on the autism spectrum and discover their inspiring approaches to art;

-learn about art facilitation, a method of supporting the artistic development of people with intellectual disabilities or on the autism spectrum that can also be applied to work with other target groups;

-experience the methods of collective art making developed by Barvolam in their Jamming project.

Matthew Rogers: Urban Senses

Performative Game

Where are you? How do you feel here? What do you perceive? Any particular memories or associations arising? How would you describe this place, here, right now?

Urban Senses is a group game, an expedition to seek out secrets within our environment like any other. At a selected location, we roll the dice, follow instructions and come closer to what is actually happening around us. By slowing down and focusing our perception, the encounter with seemingly ordinary surroundings is experienced anew. Urban Senses is an attempt to discover the miracles under the skin of the profane, including the ugly and the surprisingly beautiful.

 Neda Taslimian: My Veins

This performance explores the sense of touch and the body’s memory through personal and cultural experiences. Growing up with a forced hijab created a split between my inner self and how my body was seen and controlled. Later, cancer changed my relationship with touch—from giving care to receiving it, shaping feelings of vulnerability, love, and guilt. Using textures, chalk, and fabric, I invite the audience to engage with making and wearing the hijab as a poetic gesture. The piece reflects on identity, intimacy, and the complex meanings of touch in both personal and political contexts.
