Andreas Weber

David Kumermann: Libeň / guided tour of the exhibition (in Czech language)

A guided tour of the exhibition of photographs by David Kumermann in shop windows and public spaces around Rokytka. The exhibition presents Libeň through the eyes of a photographer who has been following this district for over twenty years. The selection of images was created organically from thousands of shots, focusing on everyday situations and people’s relationships to the places they live in. The city is not just a backdrop here, but an active participant in the action. The photographs oscillate between document and poetry – Libeň residents can read them as if in a chronicle. At the same time, visitors from outside can enter the story of this changing urban landscape through the images.

Tilman Aumüller & Christopher Krause: Schools of Transmutation = a speculative fiction game

A speculative fiction game about sustainable futures.

What if animals were paid for their work? What if artificial intelligence belonged to the users? And what would fashion look like if nothing were thrown away?

While sustainability is often reduced to pragmatic solutions, the speculative fiction game “Her Shadow Resources” focuses on imagination. The participants invent wonders that change the future of a neighborhood. Using methods of experimental pen-and-paper role-playing games, they reflect on what other ways of living together they can imagine. As they tell stories together and plans fail, the players experience how a world unfolds unexpectedly through the interplay of diverse perspectives.

18:00 / outside in front of the Studio ALTA

Boys* in Sync: Kleist & Krise

Boys* in Sync is taking the audience on a guided tour, researching residential areas built in the 1950s to provide green and affordable housing, inspired by the Athens Charter.
200 years ago Heinrich von Kleist wrote “The Earthquake in Chile”, a short novel about a young couple whose love is socially forbidden and a society that tries to learn from a crisis. Only through the catastrophe of an earthquake are they able to escape execution and find shelter in a community of survivors outside the ruins of the destroyed city.
Exploring its socio-political topography, stepping in and out of theatricality, Boys* in Sync is using the architecture as well as Kleist’s novel to raise the question: What does it need to build a community?

Dorota Michalak & Alica Minar: Lush blast

Can dance mend our ties to the land and intimately connect us? “Lush Blast” is a walking performance in an urban park, exploring the relations between natural and artificial, wild and domesticated. Tree trunks and limbs, crumbling mountains, roaring rivers, vibrating chains. Four performers guide the audience through varying atmospheres, from evocative songs to acidic humor, asking what remains of the wilderness in and around us. Using their physicalities and voices, they morph their presences in a quest to become something other than human, inviting us into a sensual feast and a cruel battlefield. After spending time in the Carpathian Wilderness, the choreographers want to re-articulate power as a vital force rather than a tool of control.
