Information
The Dream Square is a project by the Azolla Collective, where together with you we explore public space and dream about its future.
With the support of Studio ALTA, Kreativní Praha, the Prague 8 City District, local organizations, and active neighbors, we create participatory events, installations, and performances made specifically for the Square of Elsnic.
We invite you to movement workshops where we will dance, dream together, map the space, and share through movement and visual art. We involve the residents of Libeň as well as pupils from local primary schools, whose ideas, experiences, and presence help shape the entire project.
The project will culminate on September 27.

WORK-IN-PROGRESS PERFORMANCE light ~ dusk ~ shadow

This performative installation reflects on the theme of abandoned spaces and artificial lighting in public space, which directly affects the surrounding environment and all organisms living nearby. It becomes a poetic reflection or a call to contemplate abandoned places in the city and their use at different times of day.
A dancing point of the past, a streetlight, and darkness. An abandoned square, a cracked path, massive flowerpots, a concrete bridge, and eight lamps. A mobile object from public lighting that reflects light instead of producing it. A river you cannot see, living beings and bodies in a park that is not a park, in a square that is not a square.
The performers bring shadows to life, exploring the fragile boundaries between what is visible and what remains hidden. A liminal space in the time when night falls yet it is still light — light ~ dusk ~ shadow — and in between, a space that no one has asked what it could be or what brings it to life.
SENSORY WALK

Come join Azolla Collective on the 13th of September for a walk around Elsnicovo Square. Using the Sonicmaps platform (https://sonicmaps.xyz/player/
Each place tells a different story—some will invite you into magical bushes, others will offer a new view of the Rokytka swimming pool or an encounter with volcanoes. You determine the route and pace yourself.
We recommend bringing your phone and headphones.

PUBLIC WORKSHOP: Imaginative Dreaming as part of “Zažít Libeň“
During the Imaginative Dreaming workshop at The Square of Elsnic, we will dream together about the new future of the place — about our wishes, needs, and its potential.
We will create an emotional map of the space. We will move, and through play and working with imagination, explore new possibilities of being together at The Square of Elsnic.
THE DREAM SQUARE FINALE

Saturday’s The Dream Square will be slightly shorter due to the cold weather – we recommend warm clothing. We will meet at 6:15 PM on Elsnicovo Square, where the text Great Welcome will be read by the fire and then you can take a short audio walk around the square at your own pace, which lasts approximately 25 minutes. All you need is a phone and headphones. At 6:55 PM, the premiere of the performance light.dusk.shadow begins, which will conclude the evening together and the previous part of The Dream Square project.

Azolla Collective was founded by performers Lucie Vrbíková and Adina Malina Voldrábová and musician Nikolay Tretyachenko. Their work focuses on creating artistic interventions and performances in public space, on meeting and sharing through movement and other artistic and participatory forms. Azolla Collective evolves and responds to current phenomena, seeking new possibilities of performativity and experimenting with various approaches and media.
As a collective, we want to work in a way similar to the small aquatic fern — azolla — which connects and gently improves conditions for other organisms. Quietly but with care, we grow through collaboration and by connecting people, places, and ideas that together create new forms of space.
