Information

Going deeper, immersing, intertwining with others, sharing knowledge, resources, and experiences. Not being alone.

There are actually many of us who work in the medium of performance art. Although we are not so visible and audible, we shape the undercurrent of cultural events. Sometimes it’s hard to get noticed; sometimes we don’t know about each other.

Together with the international festival 4 + 4 Days in Motion, we are plowing the soil, opening it up for encounters between the public and performance art, and between individual creators. We want to give space for the roots of our networks (contacts) and our artistic activities to connect. We’ve invited individual artists from the Czech Republic and abroad and representatives of the essential performance platform PAErsche , which supports over 30 artists from all over Europe.

Every rooting and connecting process needs, above all, plenty of time. That’s why we’re creating a six-hour event. The invited artists will present their work throughout this long period, and the audience is invited to enter the performative stream and perform as they choose.  How will our understanding of others be transformed? How will we perceive the creative impulse if we give it time?  How much attention are we able to give ourselves? And how much time do we need to root and connect?

Artists: PAErsche: Marita Bullmann [Essen] & Christiane Obermayr [Cologne], Hsu Yi Ting  [Taiwan], Inger-Reidun Olsen [Oslo], Denis Baštuga & Adam Michálek, Darja Lukjanenko

Curator: Petr Dlouhý

PROGRAM

There will be two open performance situation throughout the event. The work of the artists will spread out in time, evolve, layer, the individual actions will interact with each other and you can watch them as long as you want. The tea ceremony will be an embedded moment where you will be able to absorb some of your experiences by drinking tea. There will be a break in the middle of the event. Darja Lukjanenko will guide you through a collective rest & dreaming session. Then she will pick up again with an open situation. In the evening we will serve soup, which we will cook together during the evening. In the end, Inger-Reidun Olsen will guide us through the final act – the ritual.

It is possible to enter and leave the event at any time. There is no need to stay the whole time. Yet the more you immerse yourself in the event, the more it has to offer. You can move freely in the space. Choose your place. Walk inside the hall where the artwork is happening and venture out into the garden or refresh yourself at the self-service bar.

There will be mattresses, pillows, blankets in the space for communal relaxation. Feel free, however, to bring whatever you feel comfortable with.
