Information

The “Heart Dances” workshop, led by dancer and choreographer Lenka Vořechovská, will focus on a somatic and dance-based exploration of the heart and its metaphorical and physical significance. Through structured dance improvisation and imaginative and choreographic exercises, we will explore together what the heart means to us and how we dance “from the heart”. We will work individually, in pairs and in a group. The workshop is open to professional dancers, but we also warmly welcome non-dancers who enjoy moving and exploring their creativity. The workshop will take place following a work-in-progress preview of the dance production Heart to Heart, which will be held on 18 September at Kasárny Karlín.

The workshop lasts 2 hours / it is conducted in Czech and, if needed, in English

Dance artist Lenka Vořechovská (she/her) focuses in her work on expanded performative formats, collective creation and dance dramaturgy. Focusing on the intersection of nature and culture, she explores various somatic and choreographic practices that guide participants and/or audiences to shift from an everyday state to one that enables and invites rest, complexity and compassion.
