18:00 _ IT’S ALL ABOUT EDUCATION READING CLUB

Every Tuesday and Thursday, we will meet to read and discuss together in the It’s All About Education library. We will be focusing on text about autonomous education, non-hierarchical organization of knowledge, and anarchist sharing of future-oriented practices. The Reading Club will be facilitated by Petr Dlouhý and Magdalena J. Härtelova, the curators of the university. The text will be in English, during discussion translation between English and Czech will be available.

Escape, flee, run away – effugio. The performance explores feelings and emotional changes right before, during and after the self-injury. work is based on a collection of authentic stories of people who have undergone or are undergoing some forms of conscious self-injury. It maps the causes, possible triggers and stressors provoking the feelings of intense sadness, loss of one’s own value, and the feelings of insufficiency, and inducing the urge to punish oneself or simply escape these thoughts and have an empty head for a while.

Dočasná company is a collective of young artists who create a platform for a diverse contemporary concept of art focused mainly on dance and physical theater. Its goal is to change the boundaries between creation for the general public and intellectual art for professional audiences. Besides the traditional work in a theatrical environment Docasná company brings the art out to an atypical environment in the sense of street art and site-specific projects.

14:00-18:00 _ MATYÁŠ GRIMMICH & ANNA CHRTKOVÁ: OPEN STUDIOS

During the Open Studios the public can visit the studios of the resident collectives, connect with the artists, see them in their work, and discuss their projects and practices.

Anna Chrtková and Matyáš Grimmich dedicate their collective work to “We”, in an (en)large(d) sense of the word. They investigate the potential of art and its broader practices to create “We” as a way to surpass the concept of an individual, to possibly invent new forms of unity on the level of the body, psyche, economy, and politics. Their research builds on the question “What if we are all…?”, which has been leading them to continuously re-define “We” – the types of “W” do we already live and what “We’s” are we overlooking; the ways we relate to the global “We” (we all) and the types of local “We” we create

During the Open Studios the public can visit the studios of the resident collectives, connect with the artists, see them in their work, and discuss their projects and practices. In the Open Studios eAaCs will offer a Health Bar / Rest Continuum: collective napping & time bending, herbal remedies, flower essences, intuitive processes, listening/breathing/humming, somatic body work.

eYe AS a collecTive is a membranic collaboration between artists Florence Freitag, Lisa Stewart, and the soup of the collective consciousness. Working with embodied sensorial story-telling, experimental vocals, plant/mineral collaborators and metaphysical pratices, EAaCs magic engages feminist, ecological and mythical thematics.
