HOUSE OF RESEARCH
(April 19–28, 2027)
House of Research is a residency programme conceived as a shared space and laboratory for three artistic projects or individual artists and their research. It is primarily intended for processes in the early phases of exploration, experimentation and material creation.
It offers the possibility of deeper immersion into (or, conversely, stepping back from) artistic research and functions as a tool for discovering new layers of one’s own artistic practice.
It is also possible to enter the House of Research with an already completed work (performance, installation, object, video, etc.) and focus on reopening it and transforming it into another form. For example, exploring ways to turn a performance into a workshop, text, performance-lecture, etc.
The House of Research offers its guests access to a shared studio, space for individual work, and facilitated meetings focused on the exchange of knowledge and practices within the group.
A public outcome of the research in the form of a work-in-progress presentation is required. Its exact form will be based on the needs and wishes of the participants.
THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM INCLUDES:
-a 10-day residency
-artist fee of CZK 12,000 per project
-facilities for creative work: public spaces in the area around Studio ALTA, rehearsal rooms at Studio ALTA

HOUSE OF REST
(March–November 2027)
House of Rest is a five-day residency retreat intended for colleagues working in the arts who feel overloaded, under pressure from constant production, or who are simply looking for a zone of calm for their own thoughts. The House of Rest can become a reason to slow down, recalibrate one’s practice, a space for idleness and care, a vacuum.
The space and resources dedicated to the House of Rest are intended primarily for colleagues from the arts sector. Applicants must work (primarily or partially) in fields such as production, dramaturgy, curating, PR, technical and other supportive artistic professions, and be active (primarily or partially) in the independent sector in the Czech Republic.
The final location and specific dates of the House of Rest will be determined by mutual agreement with the selected participants. It can take place in nature or in the city, close to one’s home or on the other side of the country.
The residency is not conditioned by any output or participation in any activities.
Guests of the House of Rest will be selected by lottery, as it is not for us—or anyone else—to decide who needs rest more and who less. We all need it. A total of two people will be selected in the drawing.
THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM INCLUDES:
– a five-day residency stay at a location to be agreed upon
– artist fee of CZK 6,000 per person

HOUSE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
(August 9–18, 2027)
House in the Neighborhood is a residency program dedicated to performative art projects created in collaboration with the local community and specifically designed or adapted for public spaces in Libeň and the surrounding area. This year’s call for proposals focuses on projects working with the 55+ age group.
Although Studio ALTA is reopening its own theater, we want to continue supporting art in public spaces and strengthening our relationship with the Libeň neighborhood. We are looking for projects that view public space as a meeting place and that actively involve the local community in their creative process or the final form of the work.
Both projects already in progress and those just getting started are eligible to apply. The residency is intended for one selected project. A condition of the residency is the presentation of a public performance – either a premiere or a work-in-progress – in a public space at the conclusion of the residency. Upon agreement, the selected project may also be included in Studio ALTA’s year-round program.
THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM INCLUDES:
-artist fee of 30,000 CZK per project
-facilities for creative work: a rehearsal space and indoor facilities at Studio ALTA or facilities provided by local organizations as needed for the residency; however, given the nature of the residency, we primarily provide outdoor spaces
-dramaturgical support from the team during project development
-production support and consultation throughout the residency (this does not constitute full-scale production management of the entire project)
-opportunities to collaborate with Studio ALTA’s partner organizations
-technical consultation (this does not include a lighting or sound designer dedicated exclusively to your project)
-PR consultation (including promotion of the project on our social media channels)
-7 days of intensive production and technical support during the final phase of the project, including access to Studio ALTA’s technical equipment

HOUSE OF SWEAT
(February 1–10, 2027)
The House of Sweat is a residency program designed for performative art projects that are conceived or adapted for the specific environment of Studio ALTA’s sauna and its immediate surroundings. The call for proposals focuses on projects that explore new ways of working with intimate spaces, proximity to the audience, and unconventional formats of performative art.
Both projects already in development and those still in the early stages of creation are eligible to apply.
The residency will take place from February 1–10, 2027, and is intended for one selected project.
A condition of the residency is a public presentation in the form of a work-in-progress or a premiere in the sauna space and its surroundings as part of the program block from February 9–12, 2027. Upon agreement, the selected project may also be included in Studio ALTA’s year-round program.
THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM INCLUDES:
-artist fee of 15,000 CZK per project
-a 10-day residency
-creative facilities: sauna, rehearsal spaces, and public spaces in the surrounding area as needed for the project
-dramaturgical support from the team during project development
-production support and consultation during the residency (this does not constitute full-scale production of the entire project)
-technical consultation (this does not include a lighting/sound designer dedicated solely to your project)
-PR consultation (including promotion of the project on our social media channels)
-2 days of intensive production and technical support during the final phase of the project, including the use of Studio ALTA’s technical equipment
