Attention, it is raining CHANGES IN THE PROGRAM. 🌧️ Although Rokytka was kind to us, we had to change the *ALTA SLOVENSKÁ* and *EXPERIENCE LIBEŇ* program due to the consequences of heavy rains – safety first! But don’t worry, a lot of great experiences await you anyway. We will find you and hopefully you will find us, we look forward to it!

Reuse day in Libeň
SWAP, workshops, educational stand

The Community Reuse Centre in Libeň Libre and the Prague 8 Municipality cordially invite you to an event that will bring new life. On Saturday, 21 September, after 11 am, we will fall in love with second-hand things and exchange our surplus from our closets, houses, garages or gardens. We can repair our favorite electronics and clothes we have at home on site. Reuse Day at the Prague 8 will take place in Libeňské reuse a komunitní centrum. We’ll have a great SWAP of stuff, clothes, books and more, including upcycling workshops Making a bag out of a t-shirt or neklace from fabric. For the kids there will be a Reuse play area from Libre where they can play happily. The event will run until 5pm. You will get rid of your unwanted items with us in a meaningful way and give them a second chance. Do something for your wallet, your household and our planet!

The word “portrait” usually brings to mind an artistically rendered person. My Portraits focus on the animal kingdom. I love visiting zoos and capturing the faces of animals in various situations and moods. I often visit the Prague Zoo, but I’ve also been to other zoos in the country. The presented photographs are a testament to the beauty and diversity of nature, to which I feel very connected.

Theater workshop
The theater workshop in cooperation with the Kotlaska Community Center will take place as part of the Experience Libeň event from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The workshop is open both to clients of the Rubikon Center and to anyone from the general public who wants to try theater work and various acting exercises or techniques. We will focus on improvisation, play, but also work with the body or text. No previous experience is needed, just time and a desire to spend time together. At the end of the workshop, a short presentation of the joint work will take place in the garden of the Alta studio from 19:00. The workshop will be led by Zuzana Šklíbová and Fedir Kis.

Improviser and actress Mariana Zacharová will guide you through a playful lesson in skills that are indispensable in today’s world – authenticity, spontaneity, self-confident presentation, and verbal dexterity. Put your worries aside (even if you belong to the introvert camp) and let yourself be carried away by the world of the present moment. We recommend arriving early so that you can get the most out of the workshop. And we warn you in advance – improvisation is a very addictive activity!

The RUBIKON Centre works with people with criminal histories to help them get a fresh start in life. At the same time, it runs the Kotlaska Community Centre and Garden, which serves as a place for residents of Libeň to relax and do community gardening combined with the integration of people who have served their sentences.

Slam poetry is a specific genre that can be seen at the intersection of poetry, stand-up, rap, and improvisational theatre. In this special block, you will be introduced to several artists from Slovakia who will share their perspective on present-day Slovakia as well as their unique humour and ability to reflect the experienced reality.
