Eli a kol.: Škatulení

Studio ALTA garden

Interactive dance performance for children 4+

Škatulení invites you into a world of imagination, where even seemingly ordinary things transform into something extraordinary. All it takes is to open your eyes, switch on your imagination, move, and play.

What can a box represent? And what if there are many of them – different sizes, or even inhabited? How can we arrange them? Move them, send them, jump over them, rebuild them?

The performance combines dance, live music, performance, elements of improvisation, and technology. It introduces children to thinking about space and architecture, physical laws, transport and travel of objects, as well as the importance of wishes and dreams.

Movement Workshop inspired by Škatulení

Studio ALTA garden

Duration: 45 min

Age: 4+

The workshop is based on the movement principles of the performance Škatulení. Children work with cardboard boxes. Through movement and dance-based games with this seemingly ordinary object, they enter a space of movement, dance, communication, and imagination. Working with a prop develops motor skills, spatial awareness, movement dynamics, and body perception, while also gently strengthening sensitivity to others and the ability to cooperate, both in pairs and as a group.

Beyond physical skills, the workshop also fosters imagination, creativity, abstract thinking, perception, emotional experience, and both individual and group work. It introduces children to contemporary dance, grounded in working with space, dynamics, and the body’s center of gravity, while respecting natural and physical laws, individual expression, and a personal approach to learning.

Through movement games, we explore what a simple box can represent—what if there are many of them, what if they are different sizes or all the same, what if someone lives inside them? How can we inhabit them, move them, send them, shift them, jump over them, or run around them?

Where are my boundaries? Can I shift them, change them, bring them closer, connect them? How can we collaborate and move something together? The box helps children locate themselves within space and their environment. It defines and shapes boundaries.

Come and see – and join the discussion. We will introduce the key ideas and principles of a modern approach to imprisonment, focused on supporting positive change in the lives of incarcerated people, strengthening their sense of responsibility, and preparing them for a safe return to freedom. Together, we will explore how prisons of the future might function, what they could look like, and what role society as a whole plays in them.
We are also interested in your perspective – what are your ideas, expectations, or concerns?

Krajinou přílivu: Václav Špale: On Ephemerality…

New Libeň Synagogue

The exhibition is part of a series of visual art events created between 2018–2026 by artist Václav Špale, exploring the principle of ephemerality as a fundamental characteristic of our world and its impact on material culture and visual art. The possibilities of documentation, revitalization, recycling, and even deliberate artistic destruction lead to reflections on ephemerality as an open-ended process of change.

Adié Serpens

A farewell to the Serpens association, which operated the Libeň Synagogue for 30 years (happening, talks with witnesses, shared memories, concerts, screenings).

Krajinou přílivu

We are a cultural collective that has called the synagogue in Palmovka home for the past eight years. Our main aim is to make the synagogue a living and open space for the public. We create theatre performances, organize exhibitions and concerts, and foster unique connections between artists, visitors, and local residents of Libeň. Come meet us, learn about our program – what we do and what we are planning – or about our efforts to care for the physical state of the synagogue and its surroundings through a fundraising campaign supporting this exceptional monument.

16:00 – 18:00 Azolla Collective: I can come as I am | AUDIO WALK

Elsnic Square

Join the audio walk I can come as I am by Azolla Collective. The walk lasts approximately 25 minutes (you can arrive anytime between 16:00–18:00) and takes place around Elsnicovo Square. Each location tells a different story – some invite you into magical bushes, others offer a new perspective on the Rokytka stream or encounters with volcanoes.

On the square’s map, several specific points will be marked using the Sonicmaps platform (https://sonicmaps.xyz/player/). With a smartphone and headphones, you can immerse yourself in a soundscape of images and texts we have prepared for you. You choose your route and pace.

Azolla Collective: light ~ dusk ~ shadow

Elsnic Square

guardians of light ignite
by sunset and sunrise
each time a fraction of a second apart
laughing, glittering
two standing, close together, burning
I tape my eyes, lick, measure in elbows
the fire shines only once
The performance light.dusk.shadow reflects on the theme of artificial illumination in public space, which directly affects the environment and all living beings around it. It becomes a spark, a reflection, a trace of nostalgia. The performers bring shadows to life, exploring the fragile boundary between what is visible and what remains hidden. A liminal space in the in-between of light ~ dusk ~ shadow, a space that has never been asked what it might be and how it comes alive.

Azolla Collective

Azolla Collective focuses on creating performances and artistic interventions rooted in the urban landscape. Like the subtle aquatic fern azolla, we care for other organisms and create situations for encounters and attentive listening. Our work is grounded in artistic research, bodily practices, and improvisation, naturally connecting with the materiality and tactility of sculptural processes. Azolla Collective, based in Prague, was founded by Adina Voldrábová and Lucie Vrbíková.
