We invite you to a work-in-progress presentation of the second-year students of the Czech and English programmes of the Department of Authorial Creativity and Pedagogy at DAMU.

During the summer semester, within the course Body in Motion, the students collaborated with artists Mish Rais and Tomáš Janypka from iCoDaCo Prague Collective as part of the Satellite Creation project. The result is a thirty-minute performance exploring touch as a possibility for communication, transformation, and relating to the surrounding space.

This subtle site-specific performance in the public space of the meditative HAMU garden explores the possibilities of performative presence, invites audiences to walk through the May garden, and reflects on the question: what does touch mean? Does the space touch me, or do I touch the space? Do I change the space through touch? Does the touch of the space change me? What trace does touch leave behind in the space? How do I want someone else to touch me?

The iCoDaCo 2024–2027 project is co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme supporting the cultural and creative sectors.
