Do we have everything under control?

How did it all actually start? From nothing. At first, we thought we could handle it, smooth out minor imbalances, mistakes, traces of dysfunction, poor synchronization. We just pretended to have everything under control—our movements, tones, beams of light, the floor, the ceiling, our own center of gravity, an extended hand. Somewhere, we made a mistake. Maybe it wasn’t even our fault, but we can’t ignore it anymore or pretend that everything is perfect. But what really happened? And why are we here? We’re replaying everything from scratch.

A dance performance that unfolds as a stream of subtly escalating images. From trivial missteps and everyday meanness to the need for mutual closeness. Two dancers meet in a theatrical and existential makeshift setting. A functioning world falls apart in their hands. What remains at the end when everything else fails? What is left after our grotesque efforts to lean on one another? Only dancing shadows.
