How did it all actually start? Out of nowhere. At first, we thought we could pull it off—smooth over minor imbalances and missteps, traces of dysfunction, and poor synchronization. We’d just pretend that we had everything under control—the movements, the tones, the beams of light, the floor, the ceiling, our own center of gravity, the outstretched hand. Somewhere along the way, we made a mistake. Maybe it wasn’t even our fault, but we can no longer ignore it and pretend that everything is perfect. But what actually happened? And why are we here, of all places? We’re replaying everything from scratch.
A dance production that unfolds as a stream of subtly escalating images. From trivial missteps and everyday meanness to the need for mutual closeness. Two dancers meet in a theatrical and existential limbo. The functional world is crumbling in their hands. What remains in the end when everything else fails? What remains after our grotesque efforts to lean on one another? Only dancing shadows.

The project’s creative team consists of SPOLK kolektiv, an artistic collective of young professional dancers founded in 2020. The members of SPOLK kolektiv are graduates of the Duncan Center Dance Conservatory in Prague and the Academy of Performing Arts.
