Ivo Sedláček, Daniel Tůma, Pavel Kozohorský: People have souls, too

(energy of sound, matter of light, information of a body)

We are exploring human as an object observed from an unbiased perspective. We want to create a vacuum in time and space, in which a clash with the normative consciousness matrix will occur. We believe that a conscious not-knowing is a much more advantageous state of mind than the illusion of knowing. We like animals, but not because we want to foist truth on them, but because we want to get rid of everything that we think we know.

Marie Gourdain, Hana Polanská Turečková

For more than a year, visual artist and set designer Marie Gourdain and choreographer Hana Polanská Turečková have been engaged in a theoretical dialogue and analysis of their works, which have similar basis and they both aim to solve similar problems of physical arts and the relationship between motion and set design. Now, they try to make a practical research thanks to a residency granted by Studio ALTA.

Their artistic research focuses on body, physicality and motion in space. Above all, they base their work on Oskar Schlemmer´s Bauhaus theatre – a complex research on space, body and motion, body and object, sound and time.
