Information
The year 2023 is going to bring great changes – we are leaving Invalidovna and moving to new premises. Our new refuge, new ALTA, is a former brewery, Panský pivovar, in Prague’s district Libeň. Gradually we’re putting down roots, getting used to it and seeping through the new building, its history and location. The very first time we open the new ALTA doors – we will fill the space up with art, walk you through it, and together with students of the Czech Technical University in Prague ponder the question of its potential. Join us to experience this big moment with us!

17:00 – 17:20 / DANCE STUDIO LIGHT: THE REPUBLIC IS WAITING FOR US
The performance by coming-of-age students and young graduates of the Elementary Art School Na Popelce in Prague 5 was produced as a school play as part of Vaclav Havel Library project “Play Havel.” It is inspired by Vaclav Havel’s play Tomorrow, the Balloon Goes Up centred on the foundation of our country. The young interpreters create atmosphere for the audience that bursts with exuberant energy carried in the rhythm of music and dance, and the scenography explores motives that appear in texts of the exceptional playwright and president Vaclav Havel – an icon of our modern history.

The project is co-funded by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia through Visegrad grant provided by the International Visegrad Fund. The Fund’s mission is to support the idea of a sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
