Petra Skořepová’s artistic work is inextricably linked with her personal relationship to the nature, the landscape and the environment in which we live. The theme of the harvest can be found in her latest works, which she has prepared especially for the Invalidovna space, in various contexts and meanings. We reap not only what we have sown ourselves, but also what others have sown before us.

Jiří Kovanda, whom Skořepová invited as a guest, responds in his original (seemingly simple, yet very strong) way to her exhibited works, the specific spaces of the Invalidovna and the very theme of the harvest. Kovanda, one of the most important Czech artists of today, often devotes himself in his work to ordinary things and materials – used, discarded, perhaps so common that in a sense they become invisible.

A sensitive and attentive approach to the other person, to the environment in which we live and to the things that surround us – these are some of the points that connect the two exhibiting artists, enrich each other and bring them together to new, unexplored situations.

The Harvest exhibition is closely connected to the environmental art database Artbiom.cz. Its aim is to unite the various manifestations of art and culture, which deal with the topics of the environment, environmental friendliness and sensitivity, the relationship to the landscape and nature or climate change. One of the main motivations of the project is to raise awareness of the topics and to create a platform for meeting contemporary art, literature, theater, film, music, art theory and other disciplines that deal with these matters.
