Information
February snow makes the fields grow, March winds still blow, but April says: it’s time to go! This time, our Performance Bus takes us through the landscape of the Central Bohemian Uplands and Elbe Sandstones. We’ll visit the Löblhof & Artgrunt family residency in Staňkovice and explore Jan Kuntoš’s exhibition In the Mountains of Madness.
Our journey continues to the secluded home of Lucie Králíková and Petr Karlíček (Efemér), where we’ll taste homemade cider and learn about the memory of the Central Bohemian Uplands. At the church in Čermná, we’ll revive the tradition of “Death Sunday” and hear from Lucie Králíková about her plans for an abandoned Sudeten cemetery.
At Hraničář Public Hall we will be welcomed by members of the gallery team Štefan Pecko and Kateřina Stündlová, then curator Václav Šafka will take us through the Basis for Reflection exhibition and we will see Hana Kokšalová’s performance in a public space.
In the rocky labyrinth of the Elbe Sandstones, we’ll immerse ourselves in a performative audiowalk by Where is Misiu walking. Our journey will conclude with a conversation with members of the cooperative Vzletný Racek, where we’ll discuss the future of cooperative housing.
Lunch and dinner are included in the Performance Bus program. Please bring cash for any additional expenses.

The Performance Bus is a magical journey that we embark on for the seventh time, once again led by our trusted driver, Mr. Marcel. This time, however, marks the first trip with a new program team from Studio ALTA. The bus serves as a vehicle—both literally and metaphorically—for directing our attention to diverse independent platforms dedicated to performance art and cultural activities unfolding in the many corners and hidden pockets of the Czech Republic. With each journey, we seek to forge new friendships, embrace adventure, and uncover unique artistic expressions in places where we might never have expected to find them.
