Join us on a walk through the city and discover it from a perspective other than a human one. This performative walk, based on the Organisms Democracy Prague workshop, takes you among the species of Prague’s Libeň district!
Over the course of ten days, the Organisms Democracy workshop team will explore the plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms that inhabit Libeň, examining their relationship to urban development and the social history of Prague. This will result in a sensitive map of places where ornamental and invasive species coexist, alongside “wild” and planned greenery, industrial environments, and remnants of allotment gardens threatened by developers.
The walk is a performance that translates these layers into voices, situations, and images. Individual species become participants in the story—from plants associated with the aesthetics of real estate development (such as cherry laurel or bamboo) to the nettles on the banks of the Vltava River, and even so-called neobiota, such as Japanese knotweed or American nutrias, which disrupt common notions of the “proper” urban order.
The performance presents the urban environment as a set of interconnected species and relationships—not as a backdrop, but as an active, shared space where human and other than human subjects meet.

The artists group Club Real was founded in 2000 and is devising and realising participatory site-specific projects: Installations, one-to-one encounters, political role play scenarios and participatory urban development projects invite visitors to help shape alternative concepts of reality.
Since 2018, Club Real has been working in Vienna, Berlin, Gelsenkirchen, Augsburg, Münster and Frankfurt —on the participatory political experiment and practice known as “Organism Democracy.” Equal political rights for all species— is the starting point of the practice, which is being developed in participatory theatre performances within the framework of individual ecosystems. In 2025 Club Real initiated a more than human history project for Berlin. “City of Species” presents a multispecies narration of Berlin from the Ice ages to the present, as perceived by 32 different species.
Current members of Club Real are Mathia*s Lenz, Paz Ponce, Georg Reinhardt and Marianna Sonneck.
