30 DAYS:

At  a time when traveling was fashionable, rather than embracing this new sense of internationalism, we were building policies against immigrants and those who wish to enter. Now after the borders had closed, we can reflect on how open they usually are.

What does a foreigner have to overcome before obtaining a residence permit in the Czech Republic? What were they looking for when they came? How many papers have they already sent it?

Using paper as a symbol of bureaucracy, we extend the arm of a state that has lost touch in fingers. We’re balancing on the edge of real and fictional absurdity.

You can keep your ticket, but we do require a completed form. After the performance you can move around freely and discuss what you’ve experienced.

OK(N)o

investigation about borders between private and public space

Research into the borders separating private and public space

Public space/ Private space / intimacy…

What do these words mean for us now, in an age when new technologies such as public surveillance, the internet and social networks blur the borders between individual and shared spheres?

Blurring circus, dance and physical theater, the site Specific project OK(N)o questions the very notions of private and public space, attempting to identify the place where individual freedom can be found within these two areas.

OK(N)o is meant to be shown in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and in different cities under various forms. It plays with the idea of observing and being observed, which includes putting the audience in a position of both the observer and the observed and creating a «mise en abîme.»

● In 2021, all events at ALTA are free! ●

During the pandemic, we did not have the opportunity to meet you in person and open ALTA to the general public. Now that we can do it, we want to be even closer to you. We decided that we would not collect any entrance fees for our programs in 2021, so that really everyone could come. Culture to all!
