16.30 – 17.00 / Etta Ermini Dance Theatre: OQDA

The world premiere of a new open-air show at KoresponDance Prague.

Acrobatics drawn from contemporary circus and street dance styles merge in a moving investigation of cultural differences. The world premiere of OQDA, a new open-air show, will take place at KoresponDance Prague, with a first reprise in Zďár nad Sázavou. Three people are held at a border, subject to prejudice. They don’t speak the same language and are unable to communicate. Together, they overcome preconceptions through exaggeration and humour. OQDA (“knot” in Arabic) is inspired by chance encounters and improvised conversations. Struck first by the differences between them, the characters go on to discover many creative modes of expression, venturing into new territories and learning elements of each others’ disciplines.

Concept, perfromance: Mohammed Hammich, Wahib Hammich, Emma Houston
Dancer for R&D: Amber Clays
