"Be yourself!" Have you heard that statement?
How many masks do we try to put on before we find ourselves? And do you like your face?
One ego, one MC, and you. A high-energy street show challenging the search for one’s own
self in today’s virtual world.
MASS can refer to a large number of people but also an act of worship. In its original
meaning it’s a moment of connection and cognition. MASS.K works with masks as attributes,
tools for transformation of one's identity into forms that are our own or that we want to
hide behind. MASS is a project unveiling buried desires, inner moments, and taboos. K
essentially connotes the abbreviation OK – “all correct” but also the opposite meaning –
“knockout.” The performance also refers to the intense inclusion of masks as a part of our
lives during the Covid-19 pandemic when they protected us, allowed us to hide, and became
a fashion statement at the same time.
