Two years, seven months, and seven days have passed since Jess, my partner and a dance artist, suddenly passed away in Presidio Park in San Francisco while finishing his last bike ride. The presumed cause of death is sudden cardiac arrest.
A lecture/performance about sharing resources related to death and grief. Grief has become a fascination of mine, and as Francis Weller suggests, I’d rather keep it warm so it can move than let it become sediment in my soul. I believe this lecture can also provide you with practical information. You may also find inspiration that you can incorporate into your own grieving processes. Because my sincere opinion is that grief is here and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. On various levels.

Eva Priečková is an interdependent dance artist, researcher, and curator working primarily at the Telocvičňa residency center in Bratislava. As Eva Priečková/False Move, she organizes the SOFT CORE educational program, which connects physical movement experiences with critical reflection on the body and relationships. She is interested in dance within various groups (seniors, the Romani minority, social workers), ecosomatics and superhuman resources, as well as rituals of mourning and celebration. She is a co-curator of the international symposium “Kontaminácia.” In her work, she explores the potential of dance education aimed at social justice, interpersonal responsibility, and emancipation from the unconscious repetition of normative behavior. For her, dance is an act of the impossibility of taming bodies and minds, of curiously observing the world around us, of imagination, wonder, sensitive listening, and everything that cannot be expressed in words. In 2026, she completed her doctoral studies at JAMU in Brno. She loves collaborating, which is why she has been working for several years with Yuri Korec and Co., Zuzana Žabková, Katarína Poliačiková, Sonja Pregrad, and many other inspiring artists.
