15:00 _ ANNA LÍNOVÁ: KOULELO SE – CANCELED
“I don’t think we have ever met.” “We can be just silent, or we can talk and I’ll give you my time.” “I’m holding a soft ball in my hands. Can I touch you?” Koulelo se [It Is Rolling] is an encounter about attention, time, and touch. Koulelo se is an ongoing praxis.
This encounter is an invitation for 3 participants that I’ll meet individually, one by one. During the session, I’ll offer the visitor a 15 minute-long massage using an exercise ball. We are not going to talk during the session. The encounter will end with a question: How are they and how am I? After an answer, I’ll invite them to take the exercise ball with them and pass the entire experience onto another person that will consent to it. In this way, the ball can travel from one visitor to another, even outside of Studio Alta, for the whole duration of the university, that is until October 1st. A written step-by-step manual for the massage session will be traveling together with the ball to help participants practice this encounter full of attention. It’ll include instructions on when and where to return the ball. The questions leading this experience are: How can we encounter a stranger or somebody close to us? How can we practice giving attention and listening? While giving attention, how can I remain attentive to myself as well?
Anna Línová studied the eight years-long Dance conservatory and subsequently classic dance education at the University of Arts in Bratislava as well as Infant Developmental Movement Education at the Body-Mind Centering ® school. The serious contrast in the content and even more so the approach to education at the three educational facilities has influenced her stance and ideas around relationality of different kinds, and with it also her interpretative, pedagogical, and personal practice.

18:30 _ SÁRA MÄRC: GASTRONOMICAL MULTI-SPECIES INTIMACY – EATING WELL (WITH) OTHERS I.
Gastronomical Multi-Species Intimacy is a free dinner open to all participants. The dinner table is a relational and performative space where ethical and gastronomical questions grow about the ways to approach others. We are what we eat, but we are also on the menu. Let’s consider how to eat well with more-than-human others. Let’s reshape the way we share. Let’s open our eyes to the politics of life and death at the table. The dinner will take 1-2 hours and include some food for humans. We will cook together, vegetarian food on the way to veganism, some outsourced from dumpster diving the evening before.
During the first dinner, we will create our personal <> communal cookbook. Every participant will be asked to bring her/his favorite ingredient and think_become with it. From what we find on the table, we will also prepare seed bombs for better future.
Sára Märc comes from a theater ~ acting background but for a long time now, her main focus and creative energy has been dedicated to other (non)artistic forms, between which she freely flows. Curatorial and dramaturgical practice have been one of the core processes to think and relate for her. One of the key creative processes has then been artistic research.

20:00 _ MATYÁŠ GRIMMICH & ANNA CHRTKOVÁ: WORKSHOP
In this workshop, Matyáš and Anna will conclude their residency at Studio ALTA during which they have been investigating the things we have to shed in order to turn from an individual to “Us”. We see the (en)large(d) “We” as a subject of desire and as the inevitable future (as an alternative to our world that is in a constant ecological, patriarchal, economic and capitalist crisis). At the same time we are aware of its extreme demands on the individual. We feel that in order to be “We” a certain self-destruction and submission is necessary, we have to lose ourselves and our bodily and psychic integrity. Despite the pain or confusion that this loss might bring, we want to reach this dissolving into “We” and to find ways to make this loss real fun.
Anna Chrtková and Matyáš Grimmich dedicate their collective work to “We”, in an (en)large(d) sense of the word. They investigate the potential of art and its broader practices to create “We” as a way to surpass the concept of an individual, to possibly invent new forms of unity on the level of the body, psyche, economy, and politics. Their research builds on the question “What if we are all…?”, which has been leading them to continuously re-define “We” – the types of “W” do we already live and what “We’s” are we overlooking; the ways we relate to the global “We” (we all) and the types of local “We” we create
