RESIDENCIES IN NORWAY

Two artists residencies in Norway are part of the cooperation between Studio ALTA and Norwegian partners.

The first one was supported by Baerum Kulturhus and took place in November 2021 in a regional cultural centre SPRANG in the city of AI. The residency supported the process of a newly created performance (still) Invisible Woman by Jiří Šimek and Peter Šavel.

The second artist residency took place on April 29th – May 6th, 2022, in collaboration with Black Box Teater in Oslo. Marie Gourdain (tYhle) and Hana Turečková were the resident artists.

RESIDENCIES IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

18.9. 2023 – 24.9. 2023 | Magnus Myhr, Sigrid Hirsch Kopperdal, Terje Tjome Mossige: POPCORE

24.9. 2023 18:00 | Public work in progress presentation

POPCORE (working title) is a collaboration between composer Ingvild Langgård and choreographer Magnus Myhr. They want to invite the audience into a physical and acoustic environment where pop-music is dissected and stretched to the max. They are searching for the mental and physical joy, comfort and satisfaction that music can provide and create a sensory pop-poetic banger for dreaming and being.

26.9. 2023 – 4.10. 2023 | Ludvig Daae, Marcus Baldemar: Attempting Alchemy

The medieval practice of alchemy might be the most utopian of all the sciences. In its very nature, alchemy expands the borders of science and finds a home in the world of fantasy. This dream of turning everyday objects and experiences into something entirely different and elevated is also a core element in creating art. With “Attempting Alchemy” Daae wishes to create rituals and strategies for transforming movements, themes and objects that are considered commonplace, purely practical or even disgusting into things of beauty, magic and gold. Alchemy, just like utopia, exists in the realm of the unattainable and impossible. With this project, Daae proposes that the most important is to keep trying, and continue to believe that humans have an inherent power to reach new heights together.
