Stéphanie NDuhirahe: Šrámy/ la débattue – premiere

What is remembrance?
What do we and what do our bodies hold from different stories of life?
How can the history of pain be transposed through generations? How can we speak about this pain?
Šrámy/ la débattue is a site specific research combining circus, physical theatre and visual/video art. Exploring different spaces and playing with stones and ropes, Stéphanie NDuhirahe investigates her own family history and questions the visible and invisible marks that some historic events may have left on her. Šrámy also talks about the process of healing and recovery through talking and sharing.

Collective Waves & Fertilizer: Under the Surface

The project Under The Surface/Collective Waves & Fertilizer reflects on the issue of surface mining and related topics. It focuses on the current state of post-mining landscape – both the natural and the social, on capital patterns of behaviour exhibited by individuals and communities. Without their transformation, we will not achieve further progress in environmental protection. There is currently enough scientific evidence to support the need for a substantial and necessary change. There is no longer any reason to prove anything or to convince those who have been already convinced.

There is no hierarchy between us and the process, there are only conditions in which we find ourselves. Biotope.

Post-mining syndrome of temporary pleasures and an illusory sense of satisfaction and even mountains of data about the current state of environment do not allow us to be together.

UTS is a hybrid project that experiments with ways of working together. HOW to be, rather than WHAT to be.
