This workshop is intended for all movers (dancers, performers, actors) who are willing to take a deeper look into the practice of improvisation. We will train the ability of being present to any given situation, responding to it in the most unmediated way. Transforming continuously the perception of our inner and outer environment into a physical response. Becoming part of an endless chain of reactions. Falling into a cumulative resonance process where mental judgment and preconceivement are not the main tools of interaction, rather immediacy and intuition.

Starting the session with simple and engaging physical explorations, we will finetune all our senses, letting them guide and inspire our response in every moment. Working the connections in our body will be another way to get more confident with the space. We will gradually start experiencing different improvisational constellations (solo, duet, group, etc), allowing a wider range of expression to be used, encouraging all variety of languages.

Space will be given to constructive feedback within the group, stimulating the ability to see and perceive, multiplying the possibilities instead of narrowing them.

Alessio and Davide have performed together, joined each other’s classes, recorded unlikely bossanova hits in a living room, shared many times views and intuitions about movement and performance.

The work they intend to propose in this occasion, co‐teaching for the first time, can betaken as an open invitation to both self‐discovery and creative interaction.

Alessio Castellacci studied Psychology in Italy and Dance making in Holland. Based in Berlin, he works in Europe as a teacher, dancer, and sound composer. He is part of Fingersix, international network of dance artists.

Davide Sportelli is a creator, performer and teacher. Based in Berlin, he carries out his personal research on performance creation and the craft of writing.
